The Associate of Science degree in Financial Technology (FinTech) introduces students to the key concepts needed for a career in financial technology including blockchain and app development, payment processing, cybersecurity, or financial analyst, among others. Students have the option to focus on their area of interest by choosing to take accounting or computer science, as both are valuable assets in this field. Students completing this degree are prepared to continue in a Bachelor’s program in FinTech but also Finance and IT. The FinTech classes themselves (FTA prefix) have no pre-requisites, are offered online through a collaboration with USG’s eCore program and are taught by professors at Middle Georgia College. This pathway will allow students to transfer to other IT (Information Technology) and FinTech programs across the University System of Georgia, including a fully online program at Middle Georgia. Students in this program may also choose to continue their education with GHC’s Bachelors of Business Administration (BBA) degrees. May be completed fully online.
